Dr. Khnivraj Jangid

Dr. Khinvraj Jangid is Associate Professor & Director of Jindal Center for Israel Studies. Dr. Khinvraj holds PhD in West Asian Studies from School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His PhD work was selected for the prestigious international Sylff Award (2009-2012) by the Tokyo Foundation, Japan. He is Summer Institute for Israel Studies (SIIS) Fellow with Schusterman Center for Israel Studies, Brandeis University, USA.

He is leading pioneer research comparing India and Israel through the their ideas of nation-building and statehood in post-colonial Asia. India and Israel present fascinating case study of nationalism and universalism, religion and secularism, and majority and minority identities. Leaders such as Jawaharlal Nehru and David Ben-Gurion had much in common than acknowledged thus far.

Before joining JGU, he taught for a semester at Nelson Mandela Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi (2014). Since 2010, he has been visiting faculty at the Indian Society of International Law, V K Krishna Menon Bhawan, New Delhi. Dr. Jangid holds life-long membership of Tokyo Foundation as Sylff Fellow for his academic and research pursuits.
