Jacob Dallal

Jacob Dallal is a public affairs and policy professional with over two decades of
experience in nonprofit, government and communications. He worked for the
past five years in the Israeli government, at the Ministry of Strategic Affairs,
which led the government’s efforts to counter the delegitimization of Israel. In his
role as director of academic affairs, Jacob led the ministry’s initiatives on new
antisemitism, online hate speech, and the delegitimization of Israel in academia.
Today he works as a consultant in the field and leads public policy at the Comper
Center for Contemporary Antisemitism at Haifa University.


Jacob was drafted on October 7, 2023 and served nearly 3 months in the Israel
Defense Forces Spokesperson’s Unit where is a reserve Major. He was a career
officer in the unit, having served as a spokesperson for the IDF to the
international press for five years and as acting head of the international press
branch during the Lebanon War in 2006.


Jacob then was director for public relations at the Jewish Agency for Israel and at
Birthright Israel in New York and at the Mandel Foundation in Jerusalem. 
Born in Chicago, Jacob received his undergraduate degree in political philosophy
from the University of Chicago and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
