Dr. David Barak-Gorodetsky

David is the Director of the Ruderman Program for American-Jewish Studies at the University of Haifa and. His research interests include Political theology, Jewish-American history and religious thought, and Israel and World Jewry relations. David had taught at the University of Chicago during 2020-2022, and was a Kogod Research Scholar at the Hartman Institute. His book, Judah Magnes: The Prophetic Politics of a Religious Binationalist was recently published by JPS and the University of Nebraska Press. His recent publications include “Religion and State in Israel-Diaspora Relations – a Social-Covenant Approach” (Israel Studies, 2022); and “Israel’s Secular-Religious Cleavage: Postsecular Genealogies and Remedies” (Routledge, 2023). David is a recognized public speaker on Antisemitism in North America and has appeared in several media outlets in Israel.
